This is a quiet, beautiful, farming area where traditional family farms and rural diversification can be seen working in harmony.
Local pubs providing good food include The Cottage Inn, The Halfway Inn, The Cothi Bridge Inn, all close by on the A40; The Golden Grove and Old Emlyn Arms in Llanarthne; the Pen y Bont Inn and the Farmers Arms in Llanfynydd; The Angel Bistro and The Castle in Llandeilo.Try the Fig Tree Restaraunt here in Dryslwyn for an elegant meal.
There are many beautiful and interesting places to visit in the immediate locality – including the National Botanic Garden of Wales, the gardens of Aberglasney (of the TV series “a garden lost in time”), country parks where deer roam freely, and National Trust properties. You can ride on a steam train, enjoy a white-knuckle ride, go down caves, or walk: at the seaside, in the Brecon Beacons, amongst the hills and farms. We have an extensive range of tourist information and will be pleased to lend you advice and maps.
Trout and salmon fishing on the river Towy is available by arrangement. Click here!
There
is also a Red
Kite feeding centre about 45 mins away (but they often fly over our cottage).
The nearest towns for supermarket shopping are Llandeilo (10 mins) and Carmarthen (20 mins). The Post Office/General Store in Dryslwyn (2 mins) is handy in an emergency.
